About the Role We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chef to join a well-established venue based in Oakham (LE15 7QB). The kitchen focuses on producing high-quality traditional British dishes, including classics such as scones, cakes, pastries, light lunches, and seasonal specials.
This role offers great worklife balance with no evening shifts, and the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Due to the rural location and lack of public transport, candidates must have access to their own vehicle .

Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a range of traditional British dishes to a consistent, high standard.
Produce fresh baked goods daily, including scones, cakes, traybakes, pastries, and other café-style items.
Support menu planning, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste management.
Work efficiently during daytime service, ensuring smooth and timely food delivery.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a positive customer experience.
Contribute positively to the kitchen team with a flexible, can-do attitude.

Requirements Proven chef experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or similar environment.
Confidence preparing traditional British food and baked items.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and allergen procedures.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
Must have access to a car due to location.
Flexibility to work across a MondaySunday daytime rota .
Reliable, organised, and passionate about quality food.
