Role The senior analyst will support in the generation and assessment of leads for improving the performance of Hastings’ suite of market models, using traditional and latest pricing and modelling techniques. This role sits within the Market Pricing team, which is made up other data scientists, pricing practitioners and actuaries. The focus of Market Pricing is the development of accurate market models which used by the company’s wider pricing communities. Accountabilities Maintain a robust technical understanding of the market models built by Market Pricing. Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of market trends. Conduct analytical and ML analysis using market data, using or trialling existing toolkits where relevant. Create and maintain analytical and ML tools to support, standardise and automate lead generation. Identify ways for extracting value out of existing and new data. Present insights and proposed solutions to stakeholders. Essential Experience in general insurance Strong data analytics skills with a track record of generating insight and commercial value. Strong interest in emerging market trends. Familiarity with at least two coding languages (e.g. SQL, R and Python) or demonstrable ability to quickly pick up these languages. Experience in developing statistical models (traditional GLMs or ML). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Modellers and Pricing Practitioners.
