The role
To support the management and analysis of data across the commercial function, we have a vacancy for an Assistant Contract Managerwho is responsible for the successful delivery of reporting across the Royal Mail Group. The Assistant Contract Managerwill predominantly deal with the waste and recycling contract, with the intention that, when better understood and better managed, the volumes can be reduced, reused, or recycled.


Accountabilities

* Conduct comprehensive data analysis and reporting across the Royal Mail Group, working within the Commercial and Contract Management Team within the FM Function.
* Monitor trends and improve the data systems for the for Commercial and Contract Management Team.
* Improve the presentation of waste data across RMG so that it more legible, easier to understand and more suitable for decision making.
* Work with several providers to ensure regular analysis, reporting and identify areas of opportunity to reduce costs. Providers included waste Disposal, grounds maintenance, drainage maintenance, confidential waste and catering providers.
* Conduct regular UK wide site audits, with the aim of driving improvement, educating staff and supporting change.
* Become the subject matter expert on waste data and support RMG in meeting its stated targets for waste reduction.
* Stakeholder engagement, build relationships with 3rd party providers to improve the flow of information and develop more useful and usable data.
* Participate with wider group discussions to support company-wide strategies and support colleagues in meeting the collective objectives of improved service, cost control and proactive company culture.


Location – Remote UK based role, with a requirement to conduct 4-5 site audits per month across the UK. Due to the travel requirement, a full UK driving licence is essential and the ability to travel extensively.

About you
You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:

* A Numerate Degree or Relevant Numerate Technical qualifications at or above NVQ level 5 (Essential)
* Demonstrable experience of detailed data handling in a corporate environment,
* Excellence in the use of Excel at an advanced level (essential), Power BI, PowerPoint and Word.
* Experience in using analytical software to mine data and produce reports.
* Strong presentation skills and communication, with the ability to effectively create and deliver effective written reports and verbal presentations.
* Desirable Sector Specific knowledge for waste and recycling management.
* Experience of contract management, ideally from a FM/waste background.
* Ability to identify improvement, recommend, initiate and deploy change.
* Skills in working with 3rd parties to obtain, interrogate and query the supply of data.

This role attracts PFSL terms and conditions, if successful and a Royal Mail employee you will be accepting the following T&Cs
• You will maintain your continuous service
• Pension plan - you will join the RMPFS DC scheme, unless you are part of RMPP (or equivalent)
• Your annual leave entitlement is stated on the advert, unless receiving more in current. If so you’ll keep current entitlement until end of leave year then revert to max for new role
• You will only be entitled to PFSL benefits and not Royal Mail’s (e.g. no longer have access to My Bundle and may receive termination chargers)
• If you have any free share allocation less than 3 years old you will lose these, any older than 3 years will need to be sold
