The Role
As Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of delivering an accurate, timely, and compliant payroll service for a wide range of clients. You will oversee the end‑to‑end process, supervise a small team, and act as the key point of contact for client payroll queries.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and deliver multiple client payrolls across varying frequencies
Process statutory payments, pensions, holiday pay, CIS, and year‑end submissions
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll best practice
Lead, support, and mentor payroll team members
Build strong client relationships and resolve payroll queries professionally
Support process improvements and contribute to the growth of the payroll bureau
Maintain accurate documentation and prepare required reportingAbout You

Essential Requirements:
Experience working in an accountancy practice or payroll bureau is essential
