At Guild Care, a leading not-for-profit charity, we are launching a brand-new Dementia Day Service at Holland House. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Lead (Team Lead) to launch, build, develop and manage the service, lead staff, and ensure our day service offers exceptional, person-centred care.
About The Role
About the role
Service Leadership & Management
* Lead the launch and daily running of Holland House Dementia Day Service.
* Market the service and carry out pre needs assessments to ensure suitability.
* Ascertain desired outcomes and measure progress against outcomes on a regular basis.
* Ensure the service provides a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment.
* Develop and oversee engaging activities, outings, and programmes that promote wellbeing and reduce isolation.
* Implement an approach that includes technology in order to improve outcomes for people.
Staff Supervision & Support
* Establish a new team.
* Manage, supervise, and support a team of Dementia Support Workers.
* Provide training, guidance, and role modelling to maintain high standards of care.
* Foster a positive and supportive team culture.
Care & Wellbeing Oversight
* Ensure personalised care plans are created, implemented, and regularly updated.
* Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times.
* Build strong relationships with service users, families, carers, and professionals.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
* Ensure the service meets contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee safeguarding, medication procedures, and health & safety responsibilities.
* Monitor and evaluate the service, responding to feedback constructively.
Community & Engagement
* Promote Holland House Dementia Day service within the community and build partnerships with local organisations.
* Support events, and community activities that enhance daily life.
* Represent Guild Care's values and act as an ambassador for the charity.
Required Criteria
* Proven leadership and service management experience
* Experience supervising and supporting staff teams
* Strong knowledge of dementia care and person-centred practice
* Ability to develop, implement, and review care plans
* Understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety responsibilities
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills (with service users, families, staff, and professionals)
* Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
* Experience of community engagement and partnership working
Desired Criteria
* Experience launching or developing new services
* Skills in marketing and promoting services within the community
* Ability to use technology to improve outcomes for service users
* Experience in training, coaching, and role modelling for staff development
* Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement processes
* Experience planning and coordinating events, activities, or wellbeing programmes
* Confidence in networking, public speaking, and acting as an ambassador for an organisation

Guild Care was founded in Worthing in 1933 by visionary volunteers dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals in the local community. Originally known as Worthing Council of Social Service, the organisation focused on alleviating poverty, isolation, and health challenges during difficult times. Over the following decades, Guild Care consistently expanded its services, proactively responding to the community's evolving needs.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Guild Care established innovative day centres and residential care homes, significantly enhancing life quality for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Adapting continually, the charity later introduced specialised dementia care facilities and tailored services for those with learning disabilities.
Today, Guild Care supports over 3,000 people annually across West Sussex through a range of community-focused services. Remaining true to its founding values, the organisation is one of Worthing's largest employers, powered by almost 700 dedicated staff members and the essential contributions of more than 300 volunteers, all united in making a meaningful difference.
