Job Description
Business Development Manager required for a conveyor belt manufacturer serving various industries including FMCG, based in Sittingbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining business with nominated export customers, researching and developing marketing opportunities to appoint distributors, agents, and sales partners. You will assist in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies for export markets, providing customer, competitor, and market data to support growth in turnover, volume, and profitability. This role involves extensive international travel and overnight stays.
Business Development Manager - Conveyors (Export) Job Overview
1. Achieve the company's sales and marketing objectives by implementing marketing plans, attending exhibitions, and monitoring results.
2. Maintain effective relationships with customers, including distributors, OEMs, and end-users, understanding their needs and identifying sales and marketing opportunities.
3. Prepare strategic and annual sales and marketing plans, including revenue and expenditure, and seek approval from the BDM Team Leader (Export).
4. Provide sales budgets and monthly reports to monitor activities, including KPIs for the nominated regions.
5. Identify threats and opportunities in export markets and act proactively.
6. Propose, appoint, monitor, and liaise with agents, distributors, and sales partners within the geographic region.
7. Gather and analyze market data, competition, and product performance to generate reports and maintain customer records.
8. Assist marketing in devising and implementing regional and global marketing plans.
9. Ensure compliance with GDPR and health and safety requirements.
10. Develop tools and systems to improve customer service, hold regular team meetings, and implement lean principles to enhance export business.
11. Develop and maintain relationships reflecting Wire Belt's values to support export sales and overall company objectives.
Job Requirements
* Degree in business management or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
* Competent technical qualification or experience, mechanically biased background.
* Experience in sales and business development in international markets, preferably in food and/or manufacturing sectors.
* Fluent in English and French; additional languages are an advantage.
* Available for international travel up to 40% of the time.

* Salary dependent on experience, discussed initially.
