Job Title: General Assistant/Parking Attendant\n\nTrust: NHS Property Services\n\nLocation: Royal South Hants Hospital - SO14 0YG\n\nPay Rates: £12.21 per hour\n\nShift Patterns: 08.00 to 17.00\n\nKey duties and responsibilities of the role\n\nUnlock and lock the building and loading bay at the agreed times.\n\nTimely delivery of a full range of directly provided general assistant services to include:\n\n· Collection and movement of patients to and from wards, clinics and departments.\n\n· Deliver linen to wards and removed spoiled linen to laundry/laundry store.\n\n· Deliver stores to departments.\n\n· Internal movement of equipment/furniture.\n\n· Collect and deliver parcels to departments.\n\n· Directing fire services when alarm activates and respond to lift/fire alarms.\n\n· Attend training as required.\n\n· If required, transfer food trollies to ward areas.\n\nCo-operate and assist with other work streams and with other members of staff to maintain a smooth running and effective service.\n\nUndertake heavy duty cleaning as required.\n\nHave knowledge and understanding of the fire, risk and health and safety at work\n\nReceive mail and distribute accordingly.\n\nRemoval and storage of clinical and other household waste.\n\nIdentification and movement of medical gas cylinders as necessary including maintenance of medical gas banks ensuring strict adherence to regulations governing the handling of medical gases and carrying out daily checks of the medical gas store.\n\nCarry a radio and respond to emergency situations. Undertake emergency procedures such as fire, lockdown.\n\nEnsure all communication with the general public, staff and visitors are conducted in a professional, confidential and courteous manner.\n\nEnsure all areas are clean, tidy and well maintained.\n\nUndertake a range of cleaning duties to include operating electrical floor cleaning equipment, steam cleaning equipment in line with the national cleaning specification.\n\nTo ensure all grounds, car parks and gardens are clean and tidy.
