Senior Housing Options Officer £35 per hour (LTD / Umbrella) Full-Time | Contract until March 2026 South Coast / Hybrid I’m currently supporting a local authority on the South Coast who are looking to bring in an experienced Senior Housing Options Officer to provide leadership, case oversight and specialist decision making within their Housing Options service. You will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Housing Options Officers, ensuring the effective delivery of both statutory and non-statutory homelessness services under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, whilst taking a key role in complex casework, partnership working and prevention-focused interventions. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on complex housing and homelessness cases, ensuring decisions are robust and legally sound. Lead, mentor and support a team of Housing Options Officers, ensuring performance and quality standards remain high. Work collaboratively across multi-agency settings, developing positive working relationships with internal and external partners. Review and oversee personalised housing plans, prevention activity and Part VI / Part VII casework. Represent the service at professional meetings, panels and cross-agency forums. Requirements: Strong background in Housing Options / Homelessness Prevention within a local authority setting. Good legislative knowledge including HRA 2017, Housing Act 1996, Children’s Act, etc. Experience supporting or managing a team within Housing Options is highly desirable. Confident in complex decision-making and case review work. CIH Level 4 or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
