An exciting opportunity has become available to join The Adam Practice Research Team within the Dorset Primary Care Clinical Research Group (DPCCRG). The group operates alongside The Adam Practice and five other surgeries in our area. The aim of DPCCRG is to expand research access to a wider population, enabling more patients to participate in research for improved health outcomes.
This role is for an Administration Assistant to join our team. You will be a vital part of the team, utilizing your knowledge and skills to uphold high standards.
This is a part-time, permanent position, working 2 days per week from 08:00 to 16:00 (excluding a 30-minute unpaid break).
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 11th August 2025.
Main duties of the job
* Collaborate closely with the Clinical Trials Manager and Lead Research Nurse to complete research administrative duties.
* Develop relationships with site Principal Investigators, Sponsor teams, and study staff to ensure appropriate support for accurate data entry into the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system under supervision.
* Assist nurses and sponsors with administrative tasks.
* Work with the Clinical Trials Manager to perform protocol-based searches on SystmOne to identify potential study participants, after gaining significant on-the-job experience.
* Support the research team with administrative duties such as preparing participant folders, emailing and mailing participants, completing EDGE data, scanning documents, creating research spreadsheets, archiving study documents, and adding patients to SystmOne for research purposes; this list may expand as experience grows.
* Explain and promote assigned studies through newsletters and website updates to encourage participation and patient recruitment.
* Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure clear communication with the sponsor and the research team.
* Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Contribute to team briefings and meetings.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent experience in administration.

* Current ICH GCP certification.
Knowledge

* Knowledge of UK clinical trial regulations, Data Protection Act, and related legislation.
* IT literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Basic familiarity with web-based platforms such as NIHR ODP, Edge, IRAS, and Rave.
