Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines. Your Youth Work experience will be invaluable in helping children develop confidence, resilience, and positive social skills. Key Responsibilities Provide supportive 1:1 and small-group interventions Use your Youth Work skills to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery Adapt learning tasks and activities to meet individual needs Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment Observe and report on progress, confidence, and wellbeing Ideal Candidate Experience in Youth Work, mentoring, coaching, or supporting young people A patient, calm, and proactive approach Confident supporting behaviour and building rapport Strong communication and teamwork skills Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) (School experience not essential—training and support provided.)
