We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team. We will consider both full time and less than full time applicants. This post is to replace a retiring colleague.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will share responsibility for running and ensuring best practice in our rheumatology service.

This will include supervision and training of junior doctors, clinical nurse specialists, clinical pharmacists, and allied health professionals.

Active contribution to the multidisciplinary team meetings (where relevant this can include for inflammatory arthritis, AxSpA, metabolic bone, radiology, histopathology plus local and regional connective tissue disease MDT meetings)

Provision of long term care to an existing cohort of patients and management of new referrals.

Contribute medical support to the multidisciplinary team and ensure training and safety standards are met.

Set up regular audit and quality improvement cycles.

Involvement in the department's participation with teaching across the medical undergraduate and graduate curriculum and support supervision and clinical oversight of AHP and nursing departmental teaching.
