Job Description
Are you looking for a meaningful way to connect with your community? We have an exciting opportunity for a new care assistant to join our 'Outstanding' island team. No two visits are the same, and daily tasks can include:
Home help:
* Run errands / collect prescriptions etc.
* Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, washing and ironing, taking out rubbish, caring for houseplants etc.).
* Organise and tidy cupboards and check food expiry dates.
* Plan, prepare, and tidy away meals.
* Answer the door.
* Assist with pet care.
* Provide dementia / Alzheimer’s care.
* Provide respite / convalescence care.
* Assist with morning/wake-up and evening/tuck-in routines.
Companionship:
* Offer companionship and conversation.
* Monitor diet and eating habits.
* Stimulate and encourage through activities (e.g., clothing selection, hobbies, crafts).
* Arrange and provide reminders for appointments, activities, and outings.
* Help with travel arrangements.
* Organise mail and assist with writing letters.
* Assist with walking (lending an arm to steady).
* Accompany clients to appointments and social events.
Assisting with personal care:
* Provide medication reminders.
* Help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Assist with continence care.
* Help with eating and drinking.

Qualifications
Full training will be provided. No previous care experience necessary. We are looking for people from across the community who share our values of providing compassionate care and building meaningful relationships with clients as if they were family.
