Purpose of Position

The focus for the Head of Housekeeping is overseeing all housekeeping operations within the home, supervising, training, and supporting your team to deliver excellent standards of cleanliness.

You will manage daily schedules, delegate tasks, and carry out quality checks to ensure high standards are consistently achieved.

You will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, Ensuring paperwork is up to date and stock managing You will also act as the key link between the housekeeping department and other teams, ensuring smooth communication and effective collaboration.

Job Summary

Hours are variable and can be 7am-1pm 30hrs or 7-3pm 40hrs Monday to Friday

Key objectives

. To Carry out a daily walk around and ensure the homes safety and compliance.

. Hoover carpeted areas, polish and wipe floors, clean bathrooms, kitchen areas, offices and communal spaces

* Clean bedrooms and all public areas of the home daily

* Conduct a thorough deep clean of the bedrooms/office /communal areas

* Replenish paper towels, soap, toilet rolls and towels ensuring sufficient supplys

* Ensure all chemicals, cleaning equipment and electrical equipment is stored and secured when not in use
• Report any complaints, incidents or accidents, theft, loss, damage, or other irregularities to the manager and take any necessary action if practicable and safe

* Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance and professional and courteous conduct

. Ensure the compliance of paperwork and cleaning schedules.

. Overseeing daily cleaning activities to ensure all areas of the residence are spotless and orderly.

. Developing and enforcing standard operating procedures for cleaning techniques and timelines.

. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

. Managing inventory of household supplies and ordering additional supplies as necessary.

. Enforcing safety regulations and ensuring proper usage of cleaning materials and equipment.

. Providing training and support to the housekeeping staff to ensure they are well-prepared and capable of performing their duties effectively.

* To work as an active team member with your colleagues within the home to ensure the highest

standards of care are achieved.

* To carry out observations of practice and supervisions with staff members as advised by the manager.

* To provide inspirational resources and ideas to staffing team.

* To attend regular staff meetings

* To undertake any other duties, within your area of competence, as required by the Management team.

* Ensure that bedrooms are prepared for the arrival of new residents including decoration as appropriate, cleaning and correctly furnished.

* Take action to resolve small problems or omissions whilst walking around the home. For example, record maintenance work required in appropriate books, report care concerns the management.

. Assist in answering door bell, call alarm bells and telephone where appropriate.

. Maintain records and systems for all specific responsibilities undertaken.

. Liaising with external contractors regarding equipment and repairs.

* Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by managers, e.g. to cover during periods of staff sickness or holidays.

Qualifications and Skills

Housekeeping Experience necessary

Any job offer is subject to receiving 2 satisfactory references and DBS checks.
