Pyramid8 are recruiting on behalf of a large and respected housing provider for a Visiting Officer to support older and vulnerable adults across the Wakefield area. This is a rewarding, people-focused role where you’ll have the freedom to plan and manage your own day, while making a genuine difference in the community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, building trust face to face, and supporting people to live safely and confidently in their own homes.
About the Role
You’ll be the organisation’s friendly, professional representative in the community, visiting customers in their own homes to ensure their emergency alarm systems, pendants and telecare equipment are correctly installed, working effectively and up to date.
You will manage your own diary, arrange visits directly with customers, and spend the majority of your time out in the community rather than behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organise and manage your own daily schedule of home visits
* Visit older and vulnerable adults in their homes to demonstrate, install and check community alarms, pendants and telecare equipment
* Assess individual needs and recommend the most suitable equipment and placement
* Ensure emergency contact fobs and buzzers are fully functional and correctly set up
* Provide clear, reassuring demonstrations and guidance to customers
* Act as a trusted point of contact, delivering a responsive and supportive service
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with older and/or vulnerable adults
* Self-motivated, organised and confident working independently
* Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, reassuring manner
* Good basic knowledge of technology (IT and telecoms) or willingness to learn
* Full UK driving licence
* Access to your own vehicle (mileage paid for business travel)
What’s on Offer
* 37 hours per week — no long hours or shift work
* Community-based role with autonomy to plan your own day
* Mileage paid for use of your own vehicle
* Opportunity to progress into other roles within a growing organisation
* A role that genuinely supports independence and safety for vulnerable people
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that truly cares about the people it supports, while offering flexibility, independence and meaningful work
