The Maritime Centre for African Dance (MCAD), established in 2005, is dedicated to promoting African culture through the art of dance for youth and adults across Canada. MCAD has successfully introduced worked with and delivered programming to OVER 600,000 participants in various settings, including schools, community centers, and camps. Representing a diverse collective of individuals from various African regions, MCAD celebrates and shares rich cultural traditions. MCAD also delivers Professional Development workshops, Team- Building Workshops and Corporate Workshops.
Role Description
This is a contract-based, remote role for a Sales Representative specializing in book sales. The Sales Representative will be responsible for engaging potential customers, promoting MCAD's publications, managing sales pipelines, and ensuring excellent customer service. Day-to-day activities include building relationships with clients, executing sales strategies to meet targets, providing expert product knowledge, and responding to customer inquiries. The role also includes identifying new sales opportunities and maintaining records of sales activities.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of product details, particularly related to books, and the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively.
* Experience in retail sales and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse customers.
* Proficiency in customer service, resolving inquiries, and maintaining positive client relationships.
* Solid understanding of sales principles and the ability to implement effective sales strategies.
* Organizational and time management skills to balance multiple sales tasks and maintain accurate records.
* Prior experience in bookselling, publishing, or arts organizations is a bonus.
* High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in sales, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
