Overview
NHS Shetland is offering a paid fixed-term placement as a Digital Projects Manager, commencing in November 2025. This full-time role (37 hours, Monday to Friday) is ideal for someone with an IT Project Management background looking to transition to a career with the NHS in Scotland.
The contract is fixed-term to 31 March 2026 due to funding restrictions under the Armed Forces Talent Programme. At the end of this period, funding will be reviewed to determine extensions or other vacancies.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage digital projects within the NHS Shetland digital services environment.
* Coordinate project delivery, timelines, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to align project goals with service outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Background in IT Project Management or related field.
* Commitment to transitioning to a career with the NHS in Scotland.
* Armed Forces community: consideration for suitable opportunities.
* Ability and readiness to comply with Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencing role.
* Right to work in the United Kingdom (pre-employment checks; not eligible for certificate of sponsorship per GOV.UK guidance).
* PVG Scheme clearance or update prior to a formal offer (preferred candidates).
Employee Details
* Band 6 — Salary Range £41,608–£50,702 per annum (pro-rata)
* Distant Island Allowance of £2,482 per annum (pro rata)
* Full Time 37 hours, Monday to Friday
