Are you looking to use your writing skills in your career?
Do you want to work for an exciting, fast-growing company?
The Company
A welcoming company that focuses on staff satisfaction, welfare, and personal development. They respect their staff, encourage a friendly office environment, and host regular informal gatherings and outings. You will be part of an excellent team with a reputation for high-quality service.
My client is a rapidly growing Reading-based business specialising in tender writing, bidding, and public procurement. They support their clients in growing their businesses by writing bids to win new work and contracts.
The role
We are looking for candidates with excellent writing and communication skills to become bid writers.
Your role will involve communicating with clients to understand their businesses and translating their service offerings into compelling narratives. This role offers exposure to various organisations (charities, consultancy firms, tier one construction companies) and sectors (custody and justice, energy and tech, security and defence, health and social care, civil engineering and construction).
You will support clients in bidding for iconic projects, helping shape public sector services in the UK. Building long-lasting relationships and supporting clients repeatedly will be part of your role.
About you
We seek diligent candidates who are excellent communicators, proactive, well-organised, and team players. Adaptability, resilience, a desire to develop writing skills, and teamwork are essential. Candidates with backgrounds in English Literature, Law, History, or other essay-based subjects are encouraged to apply.
Key skills include:
* Writing (reports, articles, essays) with clarity and brevity
* Effective communication (emails, calls, reports) and relationship building
* Time management and meeting deadlines
You will receive industry-leading training from a Senior Bid Consultant and ongoing support through weekly 1:1s with a company director and roundtable sessions.
Benefits include:
* Flexible working hours (8am-6pm, core hours 10am-4pm)
* Performance-based bonus scheme
* Company contribution to counselling sessions
* Flexible progression into writing specialisms and management roles
* Company pension contributions
* 25 days paid leave plus bank holidays
