Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated individual to work 24.5 hours per week in our toddler area (1-2 year olds) of our outstanding pre-school. The role involves working on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 or 9:00 am until 2:50 pm, and Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30 or 9:00 am until 2:45 pm. We are flexible with start times if needed. The position is term-time only and can accommodate someone with school-aged children, allowing for drop-off and pick-up.
Daily Tasks
1. Help set up an enabling environment.
2. Teach children through play, songs, crafts, and stories, providing appropriate support, challenge, and stimulation.
3. Support children's learning by encouraging their own play and guiding participation.
4. Become a key person, fostering good partnerships and communication with parents and carers.
5. Guide children's development with warm, positive interactions.
6. Manage children with special needs, including diet, disability, or medication considerations.
7. Report concerns about children or parents to management, maintaining confidentiality, and working within policies.
Regular Duties
1. Attend staff meetings and contribute as required.
2. Participate in fire drills and adhere to health and safety regulations.
3. Engage in training opportunities.
4. Work within the preschool's policies and procedures.
5. Understand issues of inclusion and inequalities faced by children.
6. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, including training for Safeguarding Level 2 and an updated DBS check.
7. Demonstrate a commitment to overcoming barriers to inclusion.
8. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Hold a childcare qualification and have previous experience with children under 2 years old.

Note: Lifting equipment will be required. A car is essential as public transport is unavailable.
Salary: £12.41 - £12.56 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time role fitting around school hours, term-time only.
