About the Role
1. We are looking for a Service & Assembly Engineer, and you will be expected to travel 50% of your time throughout Europe attending customer sites to provide high quality installation, repair and maintenance of Cerulean equipment.
2. In addition you will provide support to the production assembly team by building and calibrating electro-mechanical modules and other high precision mechanisms from our facility in Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities are:-
3. Perform on-site service, preventative maintenance and installation at multiple customer sites. May work with customer on the telephone to identify technical problems.
4. Troubleshoots equipment to diagnose malfunctions to component level. Assesses severity of malfunctions and determines corrective action required to restore system to full operation as soon as possible. When necessary, replaces defective units, components or parts as appropriate.
5. Provides guidance and training for customer personnel to establish operation, maintenance and inspection procedures and techniques.
6. May develop temporary solutions for equipment design problems and provide recommendations for permanent engineering changes to resolve problem. Writes, and submits through proper channels, and Engineering Change Request (ECR).
7. Installs and relocates equipment at the customer site. Conducts start-up and check-out activities on newly installed systems.
8. Implements field modifications or updates as required which may involve removal and installation of assemblies, subassemblies, systems and subsystems.
9. Coordinates all service actions with customer to minimize down time or system interruptions.
10. Utilizes knowledge of company’s product line and services to keep existing/potential customers informed when additional needs are recognised.
11. Professionally represents the company to the customer; develops good customer relations during on-site visits. Assumes accountability for assigned customer’s continued satisfaction with service received.
12. Prepares and maintains accurate logs, service records, parts usage documentation and diagnostic updates.
13. Build and Integrate electro-mechanical modules fand other high precision mechanisms for small and medium sized instrumentation/equipment in our Milton Keynes facility.
14. Perform alignment and troubleshooting of electro mechanical and pneumatic sub systems.
15. Sets up and adjust precision alignment systems to fine tolerances.
16. Perform system level calibration and testing to demonstrate full compliance to procedures and specifications.
17. Performs administration duties such as; travel arrangements, expense reports, allowance claims, service reports and time sheets.
18. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
