Overview
A Senior Architectural Technologist role is available with a multidisciplinary architectural practice based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. This Senior Architectural Technologist role focuses on leading the technical delivery of large-scale sport and leisure developments across the UK.
The successful Senior Architectural Technologist will take responsibility for coordinating complex projects from detailed design through to construction. Working within a collaborative design environment, you will manage technical packages, coordinate consultant teams and ensure projects are delivered to programme and in accordance with UK Building Regulations.
This Senior Architectural Technologist position offers the opportunity to work on high-value public buildings including leisure centres, aquatic facilities and sports campuses, while contributing to the technical leadership of projects across the practice.
Practice & Project Information
The practice is an established architecture studio employing over 120 architects, designers and creative professionals across three UK studios. Teams work collaboratively across architecture, interior design, urban design, landscape architecture and visualisation to deliver integrated project solutions.
The studio has developed expertise across several sectors including commercial, defence, residential, education and sport and leisure developments. Project teams work across all RIBA stages, combining strong design thinking with technical expertise to deliver complex buildings.
Sport and leisure projects form a significant part of the practice portfolio. Current work includes leisure centres, aquatic facilities, community sports campuses and recreation hubs delivered for both public sector organisations and private operators across the UK.
As a Senior Architectural Technologist in the Gloucester studio, you will lead the technical delivery of these projects through RIBA Stages 4–6. The role involves managing technical information, coordinating consultants and ensuring construction documentation is delivered to the required programme and quality standards.
The studio promotes a collaborative culture where architects and technologists work closely together from concept design through to project completion, ensuring that design intent is maintained throughout the technical and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical delivery of sport and leisure projects from detailed design through to completion
* Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams and manage project delivery
* Produce and oversee coordinated drawing packages using Revit within BIM workflows
* Manage project programmes, technical deliverables and design coordination
* Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery
* Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations and relevant technical standards
* Review design information to ensure buildability and construction quality
* Support mentoring and development of junior architectural team members
Qualifications
* Strong technical delivery experience within a UK architectural practice
* Experience delivering large-scale projects such as sport and leisure facilities or other complex public buildings
* Advanced knowledge of Revit and BIM-led project environments
* Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications and building materials
* Proven ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams
* Experience delivering projects across technical design and construction stages (RIBA Stages 4–6)
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Collaborative approach to project delivery and technical problem solving

* Salary of £45,000 – £52,000
