Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive SHEQ Manager to join our management team. This full-time role is vital in ensuring that our operations not only meet but exceed industry standards in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance. You will lead the development and implementation of SHEQ strategies, provide a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and accreditations.
Key Responsibilities
* Health & Safety Leadership: Lead and implement comprehensive health and safety programmes for both internal teams, promoting a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
* Conduct internal site inspections and audits, manage external audits, and ensure the company maintains all necessary accreditations and complies with current legislation.
* Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, and Operatives to embed a strong SHEQ culture and resolve operational challenges.
* Develop and manage project-specific construction and environmental management plans, ensuring alignment with SHEQ objectives.
* Training & Development: Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions to raise awareness and competence in SHEQ matters.
* Maintain accurate records, prepare reports for regulatory bodies, and support the business in achieving ISO and CDM compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
* Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body
* Proven experience in a similar SHEQ role within the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK HSW legislation
* Excellent communication and risk management skills
* Familiarity with ISO management systems and audit processes
