About the Role
This position centres on delivering expert guidance to businesses and high-net-worth individuals across UK employment tax and international mobility challenges.
Responsibilities
* Cross-border employment structures and remote/international working models
* Reward strategy, executive compensation, and benefits design
* IR35 compliance, off-payroll rules, umbrella companies, and contingent workforce arrangements
* Exit strategies, redundancy, termination payments, and settlement documentation
* Personal income tax planning and compliance
* HMRC interactions – from advance clearances and voluntary disclosures to enquiry management and pre-litigation resolution
* Career development is a priority here: the firm provides structured mentoring, exposure to sophisticated and diverse caseloads, regular in-house and external technical training, and full support for professional qualifications (e.g., ATT/CTA) plus ongoing CPD.
* You'll have scope to shape the practice by building technical resources, drafting templates and guidance notes, authoring client alerts or thought-leadership pieces, and contributing to seminars and webinars.
* Business development involvement is actively encouraged – from assisting with proposals and pitches to strengthening key client relationships.
* Over time, the role evolves to include managing a personal portfolio of matters, mentoring more junior team members and trainees, delivering tailored client workshops, and driving practice growth initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate thrives on turning complex, practical issues into straightforward solutions, communicates persuasively and precisely, and quickly earns the confidence of clients and colleagues alike. They will be qualified lawyer or tax professional with up to 3 years POST - QUALIFICATION experience
Required Skills
* The role welcomes diverse backgrounds – legal, accountancy/tax advisory, or in-house experience.
* We're targeting candidates with roughly 0–3 years' post-qualification experience (or equivalent) in employment tax advisory work, ideally gained in private practice or as a qualified tax professional (ATT/CTA or similar).
* A strong grasp of core employment tax principles is required, with genuine interest in developing wider tax knowledge.
Preferred Skills
* Prior exposure to equity incentives or M&A-related tax support is advantageous but not mandatory.
