About The Role


To ensure the delivery of compliant and timely reporting to internal customers and stakeholders, Selwood are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support our Pump Sales & Manufacturing (PSM) financial team at our head office in Chandler's Ford.

As Assistant Management Accountant you'll analyse and make recommendations regarding the effective manufacture and sale of pumps and stock management, providing timely information to key decision makers and generate own ideas to aid the business.

This part time role is for 22.5 hours per week, to be worked as 3 days, 08:30-17:00. However, we are happy to discuss alternative working patterns if required.

Responsibilities of this role:

* Supporting the team in the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting, including weekly. revenue and margin, monthly forecast and actual reports, stock, capex and KPI reporting to Group Finance and the Business Unit Leadership Team (LT), adhering to strict timetabled deadlines.
* Support the team in preparing the accounts for the Equipment Refurbishment Centre (ERC).
* Support the team in correctly transacting refurbished product capitalisation and stock management in the ERC.
* Support the team in the preparation of the annual plan for PS&M and the ERC and associated reports, whilst generating new reports as required on request.
* Support the team to provide financial and some non-financial KPIs on a monthly and quarterly basis and investigate any significant variances.
* Responsible for accurate work-in-progress (WIP) cost accounting.
* Support for accurate stock accounting including processing routine write off costs and preparation of obsolete stock provisions.
* Support the maintenance and development of reporting dashboards using the Microsoft Power BI tool.
* Support Central Finance with year-end audit, ad-hoc projects, and any other finance tasks as required.

Essential Skills

* Excellent Excel Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent time management and able to effectively manage priorities
* Flexibility to support the business to get the job done understanding the requirements of all stakeholders
* Attention to detail is critical to success in this role

Preferable Skills

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Ability to develop relationships within the business
* Experience of data analysis tools
* Ability to adapt own approach and priorities in line with changing business needs / priorities
* Experience of accounting in a manufacturing environment including WIP accounting and stock accounting

Qualifications

* Studying towards (e.g. AAT) or Part/fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW
