Rutherford Cross are delighted to be partnered with our manufacturing client to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant for a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The role is based on the outskirts of Glasgow and offers hybrid working.
Key responsibilities of the role includes:
* Preparing financial and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in line with strict group reporting deadlines
* Coordinating and participating in monthly and quarterly reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
* Managing and executing forward exchange transactions within the corporate treasury system
* Maintaining bank guarantees and monitoring of bank account balances within the treasury platform
* Leading the year-end audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors across UK entities and supported international subsidiaries
* Interpreting and applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local GAAP
* Preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS for group companies
* Supporting the development of rolling financial plans and regular business forecasts
* Preparing Corporation Tax returns for all UK entities
* Completing quarterly VAT returns, including returns for smaller overseas subsidiaries
* Assisting with financial due diligence processes related to potential acquisitions
* Participating in the review and documentation of the internal control environment across the UK finance service centre
* Providing support for the integration of newly acquired companies into group-wide accounting processes and policies
* Preparing deferred tax schedules for group reporting purposes
* Driving harmonisation of processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
* Supporting internal controls and transfer pricing compliance requirements
* Preparing and submitting statutory returns, such as national statistics filings
* Actively participating as a key member of the Finance and Purchasing team, offering ad hoc administrative support when needed
* Undertaking additional tasks or responsibilities as may be assigned by the line manager from time to time
