1. Undertaking project delivery from concept to commissioning and records completion
2. Planning projects, obtaining consents, and programming
3. Managing and delivering feasibility studies and conceptual designs
4. Technically coordinating and developing detailed designs
5. Supporting procurement activities to ensure compliance with regulations and program requirements
6. Supervising and monitoring construction activities on site
7. Ensuring compliance with strict health, safety, environment, and quality procedures
8. Commissioning all aspects of gas network construction projects
9. Managing projects to meet program and budget constraints
10. Coordinating project-related activities and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
11. Managing project documentation and drawings
12. Implementing the SGN safety culture throughout the project lifecycle
13. Ensuring projects comply with SGN and/or industry policies and procedures
As a Project Engineer / Officer you will join a team of experienced engineers and project managers and be developed in the role. This will be supported by line managers and mentors following a training and development plan with potential to progress further.
What you will need
14. A recognised engineering qualification and experience of working in an engineering, construction or gas / petro-chemical environment.
15. Construction and/or project management experience working on UK Gas distribution/transmission networks is desirable.
16. Educated to degree or HNC/D level in mechanical / civil engineering or a similar related discipline.
17. Computer literacy, experience of general Microsoft Office software, CAD and engineering related applications.
18. Ability to read, review, understand and also create / compile technical reports.
19. Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and positively influence outcomes with a range of stakeholders is essential to this role.
