Fixed Term Consultant in Clinical Oncology (Breast)

Post for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with a focus on Breast, fixed term 12 months, based in Brighton but with clinics in Worthing Hospital, requiring travel between sites. The workload predominantly relates to outpatient clinical activity, with regular commitments to caring for general oncology inpatients, reviewing patients in the same day emergency care unit, and participation in an out of hours oncology on‑call rota. The post requires clinical leadership, MDT attendance, medical student and registrar teaching, and opportunities for research.

Main Duties of the Job
* Outpatient Clinics
* MDM attendance
* SACT prescribing
* Radiotherapy planning
* Clinical trials leadership and delivery
* Acute Oncology team leadership and clinical management
* Clinical administration generated from patients seen and liaison with other AHPs and primary care
* Clinical Governance meetings
* Ward reviews when appropriate
Experience/Qualifications
* MBBS, FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification or its recognised equivalent.
* Full and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of the interview.
o If trained in the UK, you must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Oncology or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date.
o If trained outside the UK, you must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC).

* Good communication skills both oral and written.
