Robert Gordon’s College is seeking outstanding, enthusiastic, and experienced Sports Coaches to join its dedicated team within the PE and Sport Department from November .
The Role
The successful candidates will be highly committed team players with a love for one of our key sports disciplines, badminton or basketball, teaching across a wide range of ages.
They will also be actively involved in developing and encouraging sporting talent in either badminton or basketball throughout the school year.
The roles are ad-hoc, term-time to start in November, with weekday commitments to be agreed and include helping to coach a team and/or officiate games midweek between November and March. There may also be the opportunity for work between April and June in our summer term in sports such as athletics, cricket, and tennis.
Sports coaches are a valued part of our experienced PE teaching department, who offer specialist expertise in a number of activities. They should be able to share their experience and knowledge gained through competition and years of training to inspire and instil the confidence in others to succeed.
Sport is an integral part of everyday life at Robert Gordon’s College. Pupils have the opportunity to participate and excel in a wide variety of sports and are supported in their sporting endeavours by a growing number of qualified specialist coaches and instructors. The College’s sports pitches are located within its enviable Sport and Games facilities at our Countesswells site, forming part of a purpose-built 40-acre playing field complex, which includes a -seat stand and fully equipped pavilion.
Salary and Benefits
Rate of pay will be subject to relevant qualifications and experience. Robert Gordon’s College operates a tiered pay structure for all sport coaches, and the number of hours available will be designated by the Director of Sport, who oversees the Co-Curricular Sport programme.
The College provides excellent professional development opportunities and supports staff who wish to pursue ongoing training or qualifications, including coaching qualifications, First Aid certification, SOCS CP, coaching and shadowing CPD opportunities, and training in other sports.
