Main Purpose
Are you a qualified electrician looking for a new challenge in a complex environment? We are recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our team at the Isle of Wight Waste Recovery Park in Newport. This role will take on the responsibility of all control systems of the site, provide technical support to the operational team by resolving electrical, control and instrumentation related challenges and manage the completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance and annual compliance of instrument.

* This role is based on the Isle of Wight (Newport)
* You will be working on a 4 on, 4 off basis
* Working hours are 2 days 5:45am - 5pm; 2 days 11:45am - 11pm
* Salary for the role is £48,000
Responsibilities
* Electrical duty holder for the site
* Play an active role in plant safety schemes such as Near Misses or Incident Investigations, provide support where required and implement any recommendations arising from such schemes
* Assist in delivering the Operations & Maintenance Teams KPI's
* Implementation and testing of software modules and systems
* Conduct fault finding and investigations
* Develop and implement engineering procedures, instructions, method statements and guidance documents
* Implementation, maintaining and testing of SCADA systems
* Take ownership of the Safety Instrumented System including maintenance and proof testing
* To assist with scheduled and unscheduled outage activities as required, to ensure all aspects of C&I work are completed to program, in a safe and efficient manner
* Complete accurate maintenance reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
* Assist in identifying the failure modes for all apparatus
The Person
* Qualified Electrician (essential)
* Experience of electrical installation systems related to Domestic and Industrial premises
* Practical and proven understanding of Health & Safety associated with electrical engineering through construction, operation, inspection and maintenance
* Provided technically sound design solutions including all associated reporting and cost estimating

Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
