Job Summary We are looking for a fixed‑term GP role within the new GP reimbursement scheme with a view to further contract if funding continues. There will be approximately three sessions per week; flexibility around the number of days and timings can be discussed.
About the Practice Mark Street Surgery is based in central Rochdale with a registered list of over 10,000 patients in an area of high deprivation. The team is highly skilled, inspirational and motivated, providing a high level of service.
Job Responsibilities
In‑person consultations.
Telephone consultations.
Home or care home visits.
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions.
Managing queries, paperwork and correspondence.
Clinical administration: processing results and coordinating specialist referrals.
Provide autonomous patient care, encouraging proactive management and safe clinical decision‑making.
History taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care with appropriate follow‑ups.
Advance professional development, mentorship and oversight of junior colleagues.
Interpret pathology results, review provider communications, and ensure appropriate treatment.
Achieve QOF and NHS England/ICB/PCN target levels.
Respond to complaints and clinical incidents, maintaining robust systems.
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.
Undertake an annual clinical audit and present findings to the clinical team.
Abide by practice policies: infection control, health and safety, safeguarding, equal opportunities, and GDPR.
Maintain a personal development plan to meet revalidation requirements and uphold the GMC Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
MBChB/MBBS or equivalent.
MRCGP.
GMC registration.
Evidence of capacity to work as GP in NHS.
Proof of defence union membership.
Desirable Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications relevant to GP.
Experience with EMIS system.
Experience in clinical audit and quality improvement.
Knowledge of BECCOR and local schemes.
Experience
Working in a primary care environment.

General understanding of the primary care contract.

Contract Details Salary: £10,500–£11,000 per session (depending on experience).
Contract: Fixed term, 9 months.
