Do you have a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We’re looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in the L16 area, supporting pupils who require SEMH support to thrive in their learning and development.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may face barriers both inside and outside the classroom.
Your Role:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with SEMH needs
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO and external agencies
Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, understood and valued
️ Use positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques
Monitor and record progress, helping adapt support plans where needed
️ Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
️ Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach
️ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
️ Team player who can take initiative
️ DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
