With a growing pipeline of secured works, they offer a secure and rewarding environment for experienced commercial professionals.Your new roleOur client is seeking a Groundwork Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to play a pivotal role in the commercial success of projects across Merseyside and surrounding areas.
You'll be responsible for both estimating new work and commercially managing live groundwork packages, primarily on high-rise residential and commercial developments. This is a hybrid role ideal for someone looking to take full ownership of tendering and post-contract cost control.Responsibilities will include:Preparing detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for groundwork and RC packagesAttending site visits and pre-tender meetings to assess project scopeIdentifying and measuring materials, labour, and plant requirementsManaging subcontractor procurement and negotiationPreparing and issuing enquiries for subcontractors and suppliersMonitoring ongoing project costs and preparing monthly CVRsLiaising with project managers to ensure alignment between commercial and operational teamsManaging variations, valuations, and final accountsReporting to the Commercial Director on project performance and riskWhat you will need to succeed:Proven experience in groundworks and civil engineering as a Quantity Surveyor or EstimatorTrack record of pricing and managing groundwork packages on high-rise or commercial schemesExcellent understanding of construction contracts and cost control proceduresStrong negotiation and analytical skillsProficient in estimating and take-off software (e.g. Conquest, Causeway, Bluebeam or similar)Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesFull UK driving licenceWhat you get in return:Excellent salary of £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experienceFull package including car allowance, pension scheme, and 25 days holidayLong-term career progression in a financially stable, growing companyDirect exposure to high-profile developments and key decision-makersSupportive team culture where your expertise is valued and rewardedFlexible and autonomous working environmentLooking for a senior-level role where your estimating and QS skills make a real commercial impact?
