Your New Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, secure mathematical understanding, and achieve strong progress through personalised, dyslexia-friendly teaching.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Planning and delivering engaging maths lessons tailored to students with dyslexia and other specific learning needs
2. Adapting teaching resources to ensure accessibility, clarity, and appropriate challenge
3. Using multisensory, visual, and practical approaches to support mathematical understanding
4. Incorporating digital tools and assistive technologies to enhance learning
5. Providing one-to-one or small-group support where needed
6. Monitoring progress closely and using assessments to inform next steps
7. Working collaboratively with the learning support department, teaching assistants, and colleagues across the school
8. Fostering independence, confidence, and positive attitudes towards maths
9. Contributing to curriculum development and wider academic goals
10. Acting as a Form Tutor and supporting the pastoral development of your tutor group
11. Participating fully in the wider life of a boarding school, including supervisory duties and extracurricular activities
This role suits someone patient, inventive, and passionate about making maths accessible, enjoyable, and achievable for learners with diverse needs.What You’ll Need to Succeed
12. A Maths degree (or strong maths teaching background) and QTS
13. Experience teaching Maths, ideally up to Key Stage 4
14. Knowledge of dyslexia and how it affects learning, or a willingness to undertake specialist training
15. Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
16. Excellentmunication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and accessibly
17. Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt learning materials effectively
18. Empathy, patience, and a positive, student-centred mindset
19. Confidence using Microsoft 365
20. A collaborative, flexible approach and amitment to safeguarding
