Electrical Technician - Middlesbrough (Days)
Purpose: Responsible for electrical maintenance work on site, including planned, preventive, and reactive activities. Ensure site reliability and integrity are maintained to meet legal and company standards.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Raise relevant work permit requests, accept and follow permit, isolation procedures, and other related safe systems of work to complete tasks.
2. Complete and contribute to risk assessments associated with all maintenance duties.
3. Perform scheduled maintenance as per the company's plan to support production.
4. Adhere to company standards and procedures to ensure quality and minimize impact on production while maximizing plant availability.
5. Develop and review maintenance procedures for accuracy and relevance.
6. Collaborate with project personnel and contractors to deliver tasks in line with trade skills.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, environmental compliance, equipment availability, and efficiency.
8. Undertake additional duties within your skill and experience level as assigned.
9. Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance tasks.
10. Report accidents or near misses per health and safety policies.
11. Identify and rectify equipment defects related to your trade.
12. Participate in group meetings and training sessions.
13. Communicate and coordinate with production departments.
14. Engage in authorized communication with customers if necessary.
15. Follow corporate regulations to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
16. Promote and organize staff participation in training and awareness activities related to Business Secrets Protection regulations issued by the corporate TSP office.
17. Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Essential: Relevant trade qualification as an electrical technician. Ideally, a Level 3 qualification such as NVQ or HNC in electrical engineering.
Key Skills: Essential: Background in electrical technician roles, preferably within the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas industries. Experience in maintenance, overhaul, and testing of switchgear, distribution boards, motors, motor control centers, and other electrical equipment. Familiar with computer use for maintenance management.
Desirable: Preferably, CompEx trained.
