Our rapidly expanding manufacturing client in Hereford are currently seeking x2 Trainee Technicians to join their busy Production Team.
Job Overview
Training to become a Technician, who is responsible for achieving the required production outputs through the most efficient utilisation of the available materials and the correct set up of the production process
The role requires supervision fault finding and smooth running of the production lines.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Correct removal and fitting of tools onto lines.
* Safely stripping and cleaning tools.
* Preparing lines for startup with basic safety and operational checks being completed.
* Preparing and loading the correct materials onto line.
* Safe and correct start up and shutdown of lines with full fault identification and reporting.
* Following master conditions and amending with approval where necessary to achieve correct product quality.
* Product quality and specification checks and first off approval.
* Fault finding and correction when product quality isn’t met.
* Haul off and saw setting to achieve correct lengths and target speeds.
* Maintain the work area to a high standard ensuring its clean, tidy & safe at all times.
* Operation of downstream equipment, Table Adjustments, Water, Vacuums, Haul Off, Saw (Set up and adjustments)
* Operation of printers (Cleaning and setting up)
Additional Tasks / Areas for development of role
* (Theory) Understand the technical process
* Ensure tasks are followed in line with work instructions and guidelines.
* Report non-conformances to you line manager.
* Ensure correct PPE is worn for each task. If in doubt conduct a risk assessment.
* Have a flexible approach to reasonable requests.
* Record and maintain activity log.
* Attend any training courses as and when required.

Working Hours
* 3 shift rotation; 06:00 - 14:00 / 22:00 -06:00 / 14:00 - 22:00
* 37.5 hours per week
Rate of pay
* Trainee Technician rate of pay is £12.65 per hour
* Once a 3-6 month training plan has been completed this rate will increase to £13.61 per hour plus 0.40p shift premium (totaling £14.01 per hour)
