What will I achieve in myfirst 12 months
Starting with a structuredinduction plan youll progress stepbystep until youre fully equippedwith the tools and knowledge you need to start treating theirpatients.
Youll develop an understanding of allof the services they offer and be an important part of themultidisciplinary team learning how to make recommendations andrefer patients to the other services whenrequired.
You will enjoy a varied caseload thatincludes various podiatry treatments including Swift Clearanailnail surgery and biomechanical assessments.
Youllbe given regular feedback performance reviews and trainingopportunities. In return youll be sharing your knowledge with yourteam learning from other health professionals and supporting theirgrowth in return and seeking ways for them to continually improvetheir Podiatry service.
Finally lets not forgetthat you will also be attending a social event or two (or three..)which will help you build relationships and havefun.
General day to day duties andresponsibilities will include but are not subjectto;
* Assess each patient thoroughly toidentify their ailment
* Develop intricateclinical skills requiring prolonged concentration in; Wound careand ulcer debridement Enucleation and debridement of fibrous andneurovascular lesions including corn and callous and otherdermatological conditions.
* Neurological andvascular assessment using appropriate diagnostic equipment
* Minor invasive and sterile surgicalprocedures
* Use of materials to redistributefoot pressures
* Assess patients with foot healthpathology including those with systemic disease (e.g. diabetesvascular systemic inflammatory disorders) to maximise improvementthrough high levels of technical skill and behaviour changemanagement gained by additional study and/or qualification. To workautonomously from referral todischarge
* Maintain clear accurate and consentedelectronic records of all interventions
* When anaccurate diagnosis has been achieved plan a bespoke treatmentprogramme that has been thoroughly considered in relation to thecompanies MDT approach.
* Communicate thediagnosis treatment plan and the expected outcome to the patient atthe very first appointment. Ensure before they leave their firstsession that they are clear and on board with the treatmentplan.
* Deliver the individual treatmentprogramme for patients based on clinical findings and soundknowledge of evidence based practice and treatmentoptions.
* Prepare thoroughly before each followup appointment by reading previous notes and reminding yourself ofthe overall treatment plan.
* Review progressthoroughly at every session and alter treatment programmesaccordingly making sure that the patient is fully aware of what ischanging and why.
* Communicate effectively withclinical leads on any complex cases. This should be considered goodstandard practice.
* Show all patients toreception following each appointment and give a clear and concisehandover to the receptionist
* Tidy declutter andreset room before every patient enters
* Ensureall treatment methodologies can be justified against recognisedbest practice or evidencebase.

* Be responsible for maintainingaccurate timely and comprehensive patient treatment records in linewith professional guidelines and companystandards.

As travel to all three clinics is required afull driving licence and own transport will berequired.
