The Job Summary:
Wrightbus is a fast-moving company that has experienced considerable growth over the past year. We are currently seeking a Supplier Performance Engineer (Supplier Quality Assurance) to regulate, control, and improve supplier quality performance, minimising the impact and cost of poor quality on production, service teams, and customers.
The Role: Monitor critical suppliers, and resolve problems related to parts detected during inspection/assembly phases.
Monitor KPIs and recommend actions to correct shortcomings
Support recharge process when supplier problems impact on our production / supply process.
Support and coach suppliers to improve the quality of completed 8D's.
Supervise and support suppliers to complete APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process where required
Process new materials through Sample Disposition and/or PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Follow all relevant processes and procedures within the Quality Management System providing feedback when consulted
Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally in relation to quality matters.
Undertake supplier on-site audits in line with the supplier audit schedule including the managing of any corrective actions that arise.
Update and implement quality control documentation for bought-in materials.
Ensure that rectification/rework of materials is carried out and meets the agreed standards.
Report against agreed objectives and KPI's
Coordinate and supervise daily work of line reports
The Requirements: Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C and above including Maths
Time served tradesperson through apprenticeship Or HNC engineering or related subject or equivalent
Minimum 4 years' experience in Quality role in a manufacturing industry
Or Minimum 2 years' experience in Quality role in a in a highly regulated industry such as Automotive or Aerospace
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Structured problem solving methodologies (8D, PPS, DMAIC)
Auditing skills
Knowledge of Manufacturing processes, Inspection and test methods and best proactive relevant to scope of responsibility
Data analysis skills including statistician methods
Use of relevant computer systems (MS Office, SharePoint)
Understanding of relevant quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949
