Overview
Reaseheath College works with over twenty different Local Authorities in any given academic year. Although each Local Authority sets out its legal guidance on an individual basis, the process of receiving, consulting, and replying to the Local Authority regarding an EHCP is the same.
The purpose of the Learning Skills Centre (LSC) is to ensure that all students on an EHCP have the correct provisions and support to enable them to successfully engage in the curriculum. Working cross-functionally with external stakeholders, curriculum areas, and support services, the LSC is fundamental in implementing, delivering, and reviewing the processes in place to effectively meet the needs of learners.
About the role
In conjunction with the Inclusive Learning Manager, Inclusive Learning Practitioner Team Leader, and staff within curriculum areas, the EHCP / SEND Team Leader will effectively coordinate and lead the provision of additional learning support to meet the needs of learners identified with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role also involves managing the implementation of the Children and Families Act 2015 across the College.
Key responsibilities:
1. Communicate with external stakeholders including Local Authorities, Parents, Young People Services, Schools, SENCo's, etc.
2. Coordinate the SEND application process (including Education Health Care Plans) for the College.
3. Ensure the timely completion of the ALS module in Pro-Solution to provide accurate reporting on learner needs profiles.
4. Line manage a team including Inclusion Specialists, Inclusive Learning Advisers, and SEND/LSC Administrators.
5. Oversee complex referrals for prospective EHCP students, their parents/carers, and other agencies.
The successful candidate will have:
* Minimum Level 4 qualification or above.
* Management qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Significant knowledge and understanding of post-16 education.
* Extensive experience of SpLDs/SEND.
* Proven knowledge of High Needs Funding.
