Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Rotherham S25 Salary: £460–£600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? An exciting opportunity awaits in a local school in Rotherham, which is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join the team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support that enhances their learning, engagement, and personal development. You will contribute to a positive and structured environment that encourages students to achieve their potential. Responsibilities: Implement personalised learning plans and support strategies tailored to the unique needs of each student, fostering independence and personal growth. Create a supportive and inclusive environment that builds trust and positive relationships with students. Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary staff to provide comprehensive support. Maintain accurate records of student progress, activities, and interventions. Assist with personal care, hygiene, and eating when required, upholding dignity and respect. Support students’ engagement with learning activities using effective communication techniques. Contribute to behaviour management and the promotion of positive social interactions. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred. Understanding of SEMH needs and evidence-based support strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students. Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting student development.
