Protocol Education is working with a forward-thinking secondary school in London to recruit a committed and experienced Inclusion Co-ordinator/SENCO.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on inclusion and special educational needs, ensuring that every student can fully engage in school life and make excellent progress. The school has high aspirations for all pupils and is looking for a SENCO who can combine strategic leadership with day-to-day impact in classrooms.
About the Role:
1. Lead on inclusion across the school, implementing the SEND Code of Practice (2014)
2. Ensure statutory provision in pupils’ EHC Plans is delivered, reviewed, and monitored effectively
3. Develop and embed effective strategies for the early identification and support of pupils with additional needs
4. Line manage and deploy support staff, ensuring high-value interventions across the curriculum
5. Monitor pupil progress and use data to identify gaps in provision and plan targeted interventions
6. Coordinate IEPs and annual reviews for pupils with SEND and EHCPs
7. Work closely with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to support
8. Act as a role model in teaching and learning, modelling differentiation and inclusive strategies in practice
9. Maintain the Pupil Support area as a safe, calm, and purposeful learning space
Role Details:

11. Contract: Full-time, permanent
12. Start Date: ASAP (or negotiable for the right candidate)
13. Salary: Main Pay Scale + TLR (dependent on experience and qualifications)
What We’re Looking For:
14. A qualified teacher with the NASENCO award (or willingness to complete it)
15. Strong leadership experience in the field of SEND and inclusion
16. A proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
17. Skilled in behaviour management and inclusive teaching approaches
18. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with staff, students, and parents
19. Organised, strategic, and committed to continuous school improvement
20. A passion for “Inclusion with a capital I” – driven by the belief that every student has the potential to achieve
Desirable:
21. Experience working in a diverse, urban school setting
22. Knowledge of the Great Teacher Rubric (GTR), or willingness to train in it
