Job Title: Workshop Supervisor
Reporting to: Depot Workshop Manager
Summary of the role's main purpose:
1. Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, servicing and repair of our fleet of refrigerated vehicles.
2. Supervise and support a small team of mechanics, while also carrying out mechanical duties yourself.
3. Support the development of the Mechanical Apprenticeship Programme.
4. Present vehicles for annual MOT Inspection
5. Ensure a high standard to H&S are being followed and correct practices are being followed at all times
6. Cover workshop managers duties during absences
7. Out of hours support – Fully equipped van is supplied
.Principal Accountabilities
8. To assist in minimising off-road time for all vehicles and compliance to O-Licence regulations.
9. To notify the office of vehicle damage.
10. To handle and process customer defects and breakdowns
11. To ensure that all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed
12. To work within and implement a policy of "Preventative Maintenance"
13. Procurement of parts
14. Production and updating of workshop and VOR reports on a daily basis
15. Ad-Hoc duties as required
16. To help control the maintenance spend
17. Delegate work to the technicians including Mobile techs when required
Core Areas of Knowledge, Skills & Experience
18. City & Guilds level 3 equivalent in HGV repairs & maintenance
19. Strong knowledge of the “Guide to maintaining roadworthiness”
20. Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision making and problem solving.
21. HGV C E Licence
22. Full UK driving licence
23. Understanding of vehicle compliance
24. Proof of your right to work in UK
25. IRETEC
26. Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry
27. Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft office
