By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. Facilities Management Supervisor plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner. You will be responsible for: Assist in and supervise the delivery of a range of facilities services to the prison in line with contractual commitments. Compliance focused Help to maintain standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution Ensure the health, safety and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices at all times Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures. Ensure all requirements are met through liaising with HMPS management to receive and manage expectations This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract The training you will be getting Your training will be provided by both your Employer and Grey Seal Academy All training is delivered face to face at the workplace either on site or videoconferencing, this includes one training session and one coaching session per month You will have access to an online portfolio and virtual learning environment to assist your training and assessment during your programme During the Apprenticeship you will learn the following topics: Facilities Management within the context of the employing organization (hard FM, soft FM, total or integrated FM) Management of health and safety in accordance with employing organisation and client/customer requirements for the FM service they are supervising Developing relationships in the workplace with colleagues from own employing organisation and with employees of the customer/client to achieve service targets Develop and implement risk assessment plans in accordance with the requirements for the FM service they are supervising Organise and delegate day-to-day activities of staff to ensure that the facilities management service meets contractual requirements and service targets Monitor the costs of the facilities management service to ensure the budget is not exceeded Procure supplies for the FM service and maintain relationships with suppliers Resolve customer service queries and issues in accordance with contractual requirements; monitor customer service issues in order to prevent re-occurrence Solve day-to-day problems to ensure the FM service meets its service targets and contractual requirements Manage the day-to-day performance of staff and contribute to their development Ensure that resources (materials and equipment) are used efficiently by ensuring correct use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
