Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent and member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
2. Health Care Professions Council – License to Practice
3. Evidence of training e.g. structured self-directed study / formal courses using regular appraisal of research & evidence base to develop knowledge.
Desirable criteria
4. Experiential training to demonstrate specialist skills in VFS, FEES.
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
5. Experience of working with clients with complex dysphagia
6. Experience of assessment treatment and management of complex clients with speech, language, and communication difficulties
7. Well established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the above client group.
8. Well established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client groups with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties, including referral for FEES & VFS
9. Experience of working with carers & MDT
