Longstanding manufacturing group based in Derbyshire are seeking a dynamic, driven Assistant Accountant to join their team as a result of continued growth. As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll work closely with Senior finance team members, supporting across purchase ledger, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end processes. This role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to grow into more senior responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
* Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and related query resolution
* Produce purchase ledger and month-end reports
* Support balance sheet reconciliations, cost analysis, and intercompany transactions
* Manage and review expenses ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
* Assist with statutory returns, audits, and ad hoc finance projects
* Provide support in the ongoing development and optimisation of SAP
* Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, stock reporting and producing detailed management information
Requirements
* Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent experience in a similar role within purchase/sales ledger)
* Strong IT skills (SAP and Excel ideal)
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
* Desire to progress and study towards CIMA
* The ability to work on own initiative and improve efficiencies where recognised
