Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to work within the Commercial legal team. The role shall involve supporting the team in the drafting and negotiation of the Bank’s third party supply and services agreements.
Main Responsibilities
* Drafting, preparing and proof reading legal documents
* Undertaking legal research
* With the assistance of legal counsel, drafting and negotiating terms of agreement with suppliers and service providers
* With the assistance of legal counsel, ensuring that contractual and commercial risk is within Bank’s risk appetite
* With the assistance of legal counsel, working with Procurement and relevant UK department in assessing business requirements and commercial and legal risk
* With the assistance of legal counsel, advising UK departments and (where appropriate) branches on contractual and commercial issues
* With the assistance of legal counsel, maintaining process for reporting and managing pipeline work
* Performing general legal administration and administrative duties
* Drafting contract summaries for principal contracts
* Keeping up to date with relevant changes in law
Ideal Candidate
* A foundation of legal knowledge
* Good commercial acumen and awareness
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels
* Multitasking, organisational and time management skills
* Willingness to learn (especially as regards procurement)
