We havean exciting opportunity for a Radiology Assistant at Buckinghamshire HealthcareTrust. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the X-RayDepartment, supporting colleagues and providing excellent patient care. Therole includes assisting with CT overnight, ensuring safe, efficient, andcompassionate service for all patients.
Main duties of the job
As apart of the Radiology team, you will provide support during the replacement ofour A&E CT scanner, assisting Radiographers who will be workingsingle-handed from the main X-Ray Department. You will work in CT assisting theRadiographers, liaise with wards and A&E to arrange patient imaging, andbook porters using the online system. You will also assist with transferringpatients onto imaging tables when necessary, and ensure rooms are appropriatelyre-stocked while completing general departmental duties such as emptying bins.

Job responsibilities
* To use your own initiative to manage and prioritise workload based onclinical need, availability of staff, location, and equipment, while liaisingeffectively with the team.
* To plan and organise the shift efficiently using knowledge of proceduresand examinations, adapting to unpredictable timetables as required.
* To communicate effectively with wards and departments prior to patientattendance to ensure correct preparation, including fasting, hydration, cannulainsertion, INR status, or anticoagulation therapy.
* To make and answer telephone queries from service users, providingaccurate information in a friendly and professional manner.
* To use departmental IT systems appropriately for accurate data input andretrieval of relevant patient information, including blood results, infectionstatus, and radiation dose.
* To maintain patient confidentiality, professional standards, and complywith all mandatory training requirements and Trust guidelines.
Qualifications
* Minimum 6 months experience as a Radiology Assistant (UK) (NHS/Private) within the last 2 years or currently studying Radiology (Student Radiologist) and completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placements.
