Tax Accountant We are looking for a talented and newly qualified Tax Accountant looking to take the next step in their career at a leading UK international law firm. Salary to £50,000 Hybrid working – 2 days in the office / 3 days remote Discounted membership rates and health & wellbeing screenings Central London / City You will work closely with the Tax Manager and wider Finance team, playing a key part in delivering high quality tax advisory and compliance services to both the firm and its partners, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on time. Tax Accountant Key Responsibilities: To provide UK tax compliance services to the partners at the firm, including preparation of personal tax returns for review by the Tax Manager Contacting HMRC regarding partners’ tax affairs, making the disclosure and assisting with enquiries Assistance with the bi-annual tax payments to HMRC Engaging in tax discussions with newly appointed partners and meetings / explanations for retiring partners Be a subject matter expert / liaison point on up-to-date legislation, advising on ad-hoc tax related queries, e.g. withholding tax, employment tax, and VAT queries Assistance with PSA calculation such as analysis of expenses Assistance with VAT returns for the UK entities, review transactions to ensure VAT is accurately applied and claimed Review and ensure the firm complies with IR35 regulations Tax Accountant Skills & Requirements: ACCA/ACA/ATT qualified OR CTA Part qualified Background in handling personal tax affairs, ideally within a law firm A willingness to learn about other taxes is desirable Good communication skills as you will be dealing with the stakeholders of the firm and HMRC Experience using CCH, IRIS tax software, and good working knowledge of Excel
