Associate Lecturers – Business Management/Finance and Accounting/Digital Marketing

Part Time (flexible hours) – Fixed Term Contract to 31 December with possibility for extension – Nottingham campus

We are looking for Associate Lecturers in Business Management, Finance and Accounting, and Digital Marketing with experience of teaching their subject at degree level and who hold a higher qualification or professional experience in their field.



We are seeking staff for both regular part-time teaching and for one-off cover opportunities at our thriving Nottingham campus. We teach over seven days and you should be able to work across a good spread of days, preferably including weekends.

You should be able to teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach and be committed to contributing towards delivery of a first-class student experience. You should be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the campus, and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves.


Applicants should hold a teaching qualification and/or FHEA, live within commuting distance of Nottingham campus and have a right to work in the UK.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Associate Lecturers – Business Management/Finance and Accounting/Digital Marketing

College/Directorate: Leadership and Innovation

Location: Nottingham campus NG5

Hours: Part time – as per schedule

Responsible to: Head of Academic Practice

Job Purpose:

1. Teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach and being committed to contributing towards delivery of a first-class student experience
2. Be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the campus.
3. Practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

4. With support, design and deliver high quality, innovative and challenging learning experiences, using current theory and practice together in lively debate.
5. With support, undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including, personal tutoring, recruitment, assessment, review and evaluation.
6. Contribute to the student experience – demonstrating an awareness of the need for ‘customer focus’ in respect of resolving issues.
7. Contribute to the promotional work of the department.
8. Support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
9. Deliver pastoral care and project supervision of students.
10. With support, plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of IT.
11. Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
12. Engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
13. Maintain and foster the high reputation of the University
14. Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices
15. Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
