Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – SEMH

We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for a specialist education setting in LE8, supporting pupils aged 7–16 with SEMH and complex behavioural needs.
This role suits someone who is confident working in high-challenge environments, understands behaviour as communication, and can provide consistent, structured support to pupils who require it most.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning
Implementing behaviour and risk management plans
Using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
Candidate Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or challenging behaviour
Backgrounds in PRU, alternative provision, youth work, or care are highly relevant
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential due to location
Calm, resilient, and professional approach
Strong communication skills
