We deliver world-class turnkey solutions to the engineering sector, with a particular focus on rail, power generation, pressure equipment, and infrastructure projects. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic, target-driven Commercial Manager to lead sales and business development across our core service areas.Role OverviewAs Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting business opportunities across Certification, Inspection, and Testing. You will play a critical role in NECIT’s growth strategy—building relationships with new and existing clients, leading commercial negotiations, and driving profitable revenue.This is a high-impact role that requires a strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of engineering services. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure commercial success across all divisions.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentProactively generate new leads and convert opportunities across Certification, Inspection, and Testing servicesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makersIdentify opportunities in strategic markets (e.g. rail, power, pressure systems)Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote NECIT’s servicesWork closely with technical and operational teams to ensure feasibility, pricing, and delivery alignmentCommercial StrategyLead the creation and delivery of NECIT’s commercial strategyDevelop value propositions and sales campaigns aligned to market demandCreate sales forecasts and set achievable targets for revenue growthMonitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market conditions to inform strategic decisionsProposal & Tender ManagementLead on the development of high-quality proposals and tendersSupport bid writing, pricing strategies, and customer presentationsEnsure all proposals align with NECIT’s quality standards, capabilities, and accreditationsCustomer Account ManagementAct as key account manager for high-value clientsConduct regular reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues, and identify upsell opportunitiesBuild long-term customer partnerships based on trust, performance, and valueCollaboration & Internal LeadershipWork with the Managing Director, Head of Certification, Quality Manager, and Operations to ensure seamless delivery of services soldReport commercial KPIs and pipeline performance to the leadership teamContribute to the development of new service offerings based on customer needs and feedbackUphold NECIT’s values and represent the company with professionalism and integrityPerson SpecificationEssential:Proven experience in a Commercial, Sales, or Business Development role within engineering, TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification), or related sectorsDemonstrable track record of generating and closing B2B salesStrong negotiation and presentation skillsCommercially astute with an understanding of margins, pricing, and value-based sellingStrategic thinker with hands-on execution abilityExcellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skillsDesirable:Knowledge of ISO 17020, ISO 17024, or UKAS-accredited servicesExperience selling to rail, energy, utilities, or pressure equipment marketsUnderstanding of certification schemes, NDT, or inspection contractsTechnical or engineering backgroundWhy Join NECIT?Be a key player in a growing, values-driven organisationInfluence strategy, drive change, and deliver meaningful growthWork with a high-performing team of technical experts and professionalsAttractive bonus scheme tied to resultsProfessional development and long-term career progressionTo apply, please send your CV and cover letter to Info@necitservices.com
