We are currently looking for Courier Drivers to support our growing team based around the UK.
Established in 1985, Topspeed is a dynamic, fast growing, and successful company which currently employs over 140 full-time drivers and 30 office-based personnel at the Head Office based in Winsford. The company operates bespoke, secure, overnight & same day courier services in highly regulated sectors. We are proud to be transitioning to an all-electric fleet, with over 80% of the fleet already transitioned.
As a valuable member of our company, you will generally be responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure transition of goods from our delivery vehicles to our established customer base, always ensuring the safe handling of all products. At Topspeed we pride ourselves on consistently providing excellent customer service and always ensuring a high-quality service.
Overview of Main Duties:
· Ensuring that all goods loaded or unloaded, match the relevant paperwork at both collection and delivery points.
· Ensure all administrative tasks are completed to include daily and weekly vehicle checks, delivery paperwork is completed and signed and handed to the relevant person.
· Ensure effective communication with the team by providing delivery updates and emails to the team.
Vehicle/ Company Property
· Topspeed will provide you with one of our state-of-the-art Electric Mercedes Vans (full training on electric vehicles is provided).
· All vehicles are well equipped with the latest satellite tracking navigation equipment to ensure your safety.
· Drivers will be allocated their own vehicle which is to be used for Topspeed business only
· It will be a requirement of the role that the vehicle is parked at your home address whilst not in use
· Topspeed provides company phones which are equipped with apps to advise on charging port locations.
· Full Topspeed Uniform is provided.
Salary
· £12.41ph - £13.41ph (Topspeed operates a pay Grade system Grade 1 – Grade 3).
· Discretionary performance bonus
· Pay is calculated from the start of your driving period until you return home, this includes paid rest breaks.
· Weekend over time rate, currently paid at double time.
Induction and Training
· Full induction will take place at our Head Office in Winsford, Cheshire.
· Public transport will need to be used to attend your induction; you will be taking a vehicle back home with you.
· Cost of public transport expenses and accommodation where required and subject to location, will be reimbursed upon completion of induction.
· All new drivers will receive 3 days training with a driver in their region.
In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for the below:
· Clean Driving Licence or less than 6 penalty points.
· No disqualification in the last 5 years.
· Good driving record without being the cause of a serious traffic accident in the last 5 years.
· Good Knowledge of the national road system.
· Smart, presentable and courteous.
· Pass and maintain a basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance check.
· Supply two references – one previous employment ideally within the last 3 years and one character reference.
· Held driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
· Delivery/ Courier experience minimum of 1 year.
· Ability to work as part of a team and under your own autonomy.
· Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
Desirable Job Requirements
· Experience driving cars or vans around the UK.
· Experience driving and electric vehicle.
ADR licence
Hours of work:
· Variable Hour contract between 30-50 hours per week.
· Hours of work vary according to the workload.
·Varied start times (you may be required to work into the evening if provided with a later start time).
· Full time contract Monday – Friday, Weekend Contracts also available (must be able to commit to at least a minimum of 4 days working, ideally to include both days of the weekend or 1 minimum).
· Occasional short notice same day work shifts.
